The success of the PhDGov project relies on the coordinated efforts of various teams and committees responsible for overseeing different aspects of the project. Each team plays a critical role in ensuring that the project’s objectives are met, from governance and management to quality assurance and capacity building.
1. Project Management Team
The Management Board of Partners (MBP) is the highest decision-making body; the head of the board is appointed by mutual agreement of the partners. The MBP consists of 8 members, each representing one project partner. The role of the MBP is to review periodic progress and financial reports and provide recommendations to the PM and all project partners. They have the authority to make and enforce strategic decisions for the entire consortium, such as changing the budget allocation, making amendments to agreements, and taking other corrective actions to ensure that the project's vision and specific objectives are achieved. These strategic decisions will be made by consensus using a voting process based on the majority of voices. In the event of a tie, the PM's vote will be considered. Once a decision is reached, it will be distributed to all partners and will take effect within 5 working days of the meeting date.
2. Steering Committee
The Project Steering Committee (PSC) will consist of the leaders of the work packages (WPs). The role of the PSC is to ensure the smooth and coherent implementation of the project activities and coordinate the work across the different WPs. They are also responsible for evaluating the project results (outputs and outcomes), sharing expertise to address cross-cultural issues, and providing feedback and input to the Management Board of Partners (MBP) to make necessary changes or amendments to achieve the desired impact and results of the project.
3. Work Package Teams
Each Work Package (WP) is led by a designated partner institution, which takes responsibility for managing the activities within that package. Work packages are divided into key areas such as capacity building, PhD governance development, and quality assurance. The work package leaders coordinate efforts between all partners and ensure that deliverables are met.
Work Package Leaders:
- WP1 (Management and Coordination): AAUP
- WP2 (Preparation and Desk Research): Al-Quds University
- WP3 (Capacity Building and Knowledge Transfer): RWTH Aachen University
- WP4 (PhD Governance System Development): Vrije Universiteit Brussel
- WP5 (National Governance Reform): KTH Sweden
- WP6 (Quality Assurance and Evaluation): Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie
- WP7 (Dissemination and Exploitation): An-Najah National University
4. Quality Assurance and Evaluation Team
The Quality Assurance and Evaluation Team is tasked with ensuring that the PhDGov project meets its objectives through rigorous monitoring and evaluation. This team will implement quality control measures and conduct regular reviews of project progress.
5. Dissemination and Exploitation Team
The Dissemination and Exploitation Team is responsible for promoting the project’s outcomes and ensuring that the results are shared with stakeholders, including other universities, industry partners, and policymakers.
