The PhDGov project is set to officially launch its activities with a Kick-off Meeting hosted by RWTH Aachen University from 21-23 October 2024 in Germany. The meeting will bring together representatives from Palestinian and European partner universities, along with officials from the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to formally initiate the project and establish the roadmap for the coming phases. 

This event marks a significant milestone for the PhDGov project, which aims to enhance the governance of PhD programs across Palestinian higher education institutions. During the kick-off, participants will discuss key project objectives, work packages, and timelines. The meeting will also provide an opportunity for partners to share insights into the current state of PhD programs and explore how international collaborations can contribute to modernizing governance frameworks and improving research quality. 

In addition to the formal sessions, the meeting will serve as a platform for networking and fostering closer collaboration between the institutions involved. Partners will work together to set clear goals and responsibilities, ensuring the successful implementation of the project’s activities over the coming years. 

The PhDGov kick-off meeting symbolizes the start of a new chapter in higher education governance in Palestine, leveraging international expertise to elevate PhD program standards and strengthen the link between academia and industry.
